First week of school
Cam's first week of school has gone so well. He has been so happy when I drop him off and pick him up. He is so full of energy and excitement about his day. He loves his new teacher and his new friends. He is so sweet how he jumps out of the car and walks in holding the teacher's hand. His little mouth is moving the whole way telling her something about his morning or Batman I'm sure. I could not be more proud of him. This morning he didn't have school and he was crushed. He begged me to take him to school. In my wildest dreams I never imagined it would go this well. I recently discovered there is a little girl at school that Cam's friends refer to as "Cameron's girl". He talks about her every night and I saw her hugging him on the playground on Thursday before I picked him up. She is cute as a button. When I ask Cam about her he remembers what she wore each day. He tells me she has long yellow hair. I sure wasn't banking on him having a girlfriend 4 days after school started. Thanks to everyone who worried about him with me. All of his great family is what has given him the confidence to pull this off.

Open House
Here is Cam before his open house at school. We went to his classroom to drop off his school supplies and spend an hour with his teachers and a few other students. He had to cut out a prince and color the prince's clothes. The classroom has a castle theme this year so the boys cut out princes and the girls princesses. He colored his black so he would look like batman. He asked his teacher why his prince didn't have bat ears coming out of his crown. He had me make a bat symbol on his prince's shirt. He had a fun time playing with his buddy Adam. He was a really good boy at school again. I think he is ready to go by himself on Monday. He told me he was a little scared for me to leave him alone at school. I promised him a trip to the toy store on Monday after school if he can make it through the day on his own. I am certainly not above bribing him with a new batman to get him through the day!

Here is Cam before we left to meet his new teacher and see his classroom. He was so excited and happy. We practiced his teachers name before we left and he marched right up and said hello to her by name and told her his name. He introduced himself to every kid he met and played with as many kids as he could. It is hard to believe he is my same little Cameron who used to be so shy. I am overwhelmed with pride for him. He is so bright and sweet and social. He wanted to stay at school and play with the cool toys in the activity room. I have spent the summer worried about how he will do with me leaving him alone at a new school and I have a feeling he is going to tell me to take a hike on Monday. I have had such an amazing summer with him that my heart breaks to be without him. He talks to me and laughs so much. He is so good to his sister. There is so much spirit in this house when he is here. He and Mackenzie have so much fun playing together. I know she will miss him as much as I will. This will be a great chance for Mac and I to paint our nails, hit Target, and do other fun girl stuff together. OK, is he going to college or to preschool for 3 hours a day? It just seems like I should still be rocking him to sleep. I don't know where time goes or how he got so big. I will keep everyone posted on how the first day goes, but I have a feeling he will do much better than Mommy. So, if you cross your fingers for anyone, cross them for me.

What a fun weekend we had with our family. We had a blast shopping in Branson and an awesome dinner at Marmi and Gampa's. It was so great to get our hands on Baby Avery. She has gotten so big. I have never seen a more beautiful baby. Cameron and Mackenzie have such a good time with Ethan. They all play so well together. Cameron and Ethan spent a lot of time dressed up as Batman and Robin. I have to say the highlight of the weekend was the competitive game of bags. We are all a little sore from how much Wii the adults played. Jen is a very enthusiastic player and Michael has a little to learn about bowling. We played baseball Saturday night until none of us could use our right arms. Even Grandma and Grandpa hung in until after midnight. It was so nice to have the laughter and chaos that having so much family together brings. It is awfully quiet and lonely when you all leave. We miss you and love you. Thanks for such a great weekend.
